Henry Gordon Alken
1810 - 1892
Born in Suffolk in 1810 Henry Gordon Alken was the son of Henry Thomas Alken and his wife Maria Gordon.
He studied under his father and worked in Ipswich, but the family returned to London where he worked as an artist painting horse racing, hunting and other country pursuits.
His work was always well observed being full of color and interest.
