John Barrett

John Barrett

John Barrett was an English landscape painter from the middle to the latter part of the 19 century. He mostly painted bucolic English landscapes often with rivers sometimes with hills and sometimes with buildings such as cottages and small dwellings.

Little is known of the life of John other than he exhibited in 1883 at the Royal Academy in London a small landscape.

The artist was best known for his atmospheric sometimes moody landscapes, often with dramatic skies and fantastic light. This is one such example of a perfectly painted English Victorian landscapes.
