August Serrure was a Belgium painter of Genre scenes. He was a pupil of Ferdinand De Braekeleer a well known and much admired painter of genre and portrait scenes. Serrure studied at the Academy of Antwerp under De Braekeleer where he honed his skill of painting detailed interior scenes.
He exhibited at the Salon of Antwerp in 1861, the Salon of Brussels in 1863-1864, and in London in 1874.
