Thomas William Earl was a well known British sporting painter from the latter part of the 19th century. Most of his close family members were also painters of animal subjects making them the most important sporting family in British art since the Herring or Alken families.
This is a wonderful example of the portrait work that Thomas was well known for. He gave all his animals great attitude and character and this painting has all of his skill in every brush stroke.
This piece is in excellent condition and is framed in a wonderful antique frame
