William Young was an English painter of landscapes and river scenes from the latrer part of the Victorian period. He worked mostly in oil. His paintings were full of details and fine brush work which made them very sought after. This is an interesting scene of Anne Hatherways cottage near Stratford-Upon-Avon. She was the wife of William Shakespeare and the house is a major tourist location for people interested in the author.
The painting dates from the 1880-1890 period and is in the finest condition.
