Museum quality Victorian Interior with lady and child

REF: 2159

Painter

Daniel Pasmore the Younger was a London genre and portrait artist who exhibited mostly at the Society of British Artists in Suffolk Street, London. He is liable to be confused with his father, Daniel Pasmore Senior who painted similar subjects. The quality of his work is outstanding and this piece has all the attributes in a Victorian Genre Interior painting that are in demand

This piece is signed and dated lower left and is a very fine example of the artist's work. It is also inscribed, 'reworked 1858', which makes us believe the artist went back over the painting at a later date after first painting the piece in the late 1840s. This is a very rare thing to find in a painting.

It is an oil on canvas and has been recently cleaned and re-varnished.

The painting has been reframed in the Uk with a new handmade gold leaf frame.
