20th C French Impressionist landscape a Villa in the South of France or Rivera.

Lucien Potronat was a French painter best known for his depictions of picturesque villas set in the countryside of the French Riviera. The artist painted with a warm, muted palette, and utilized loose brushstrokes like those of Impressionist Claude Monet. This is exemplified in the work Côte d'Azur. Born in 1889 in Lyon, France, he went on to study art there, later moving to Paris where he began exhibiting his work at the Salon. Potronat’s love of the French Riviera led to him permanently moving there in the 1930s. Notably, he is the father of the artist Jean Potrant. His work is in the collection of the Southport Arts Centre in the United Kingdom. Potronat died in 1974 in France.

The painting is framed in its original frame and the piece is in perfect original condition.
