French Impressionist landscape the South of France, with children playing
REF: 2342
A wonderful French impressionist landscape of children playing in a playground somewhere in the South of France.
The earliest work by the artist is from the late 1960s and this piece can be dated from about then. It is a little more finished than many of his pieces which are very sketchy.
This and a group of other paintings by him came from a French market where they had been in a collection.
Albert does not seem to have exhibited his work and probably sold his paintings through local galleries rather than larger venues.
His work is influenced by Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso, Dufy, and another post-Impressionist and Abstract painters.
This is an oil on a card and is a very pretty painting. The colors and the palette are used to make this piece a well-balanced, fine quality painting.
The piece has been framed in a giltwood English hand made frame.
It is in fine condition having no restoration.
