He also travelled to Austria and exhibited in Vienna at about the same time. Most of his paintings were genre scenes, many with a political theme or as in this painting a romantic subject matter. His romantic subjects are the most rare of his paintings and the most sought after. Many of his paintings are in museums throughout Europe .This piece is the most amazing work by him to be seen on the market for many years. The quality of the brush work makes this painting in to a museum quality piece. The painting has been cleaned and reframed.
