REF: 2446

Wonderful English 1930's Still life of Tulips and other red flowers in a vase.

The 1930s was a period of great artistic experimentation, and many artists were exploring new techniques and styles in their work. Impasto painting, which involves applying thick layers of paint to the canvas, was a popular technique during this time. Flowers were also a common subject in art, as they offered artists the opportunity to experiment with color, texture, and form.

This piece is an Oil on canvas and is in excellent condition, this piece is a blast of color that would brighten up any room.

Monogrammed lower left the painting came from a collection of a painter who worked in the Uk and America. M. Mathers was inscribed on a label on the reverse that alas was lost during the restoration process.

This piece was painted in the Uk and has recently been cleaned and reframed in a new English Impressionist style frame.

Overall, the 1930s was a time of great experimentation in the art world, and impasto painting and floral subjects were just two of the many styles and themes that artists were exploring during this period.
