Well painted scene of a lady reading a love letter in a garden landscape setting.
John William Haynes was an English genre, figure, and portrait painter from the middle to the latter part of the 19th century.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London as well as the British Institute and the Suffolk Street galleries.
One of his paintings is in the permanent collection of the York Art Gallery.
This piece has been re-framed in a new handmade English gold leaf swept style frame.
The painting was sold through Sotheby's Olympia back in 2010
