Victorian portrait interior.
John Waston Chapman was a painter of landscapes, landscapes, and interior Genre scenes. He exhibited more than 30 paintings at the Royal Academy in London and the British Institute, London.
His work is usually very detailed and each composition is full of interesting objects, each painted with great detail.
This piece is inscribed on the reverse and also has labels letting us know a little more about the painting than we normally can find out about the history of the piece. Very unique.
